Our Story

First Baptist Church O'Fallon, MO started in 1957 as a church plant of First Baptist Church Winfield. They began meeting in a small, concrete, rented building located just north of Highway 70. Later that same year, the church moved to it's current location just south of Highway 70 along Veterans Memorial Parkway and Woodlawn Ave. Throughout the history of the church, buildings have been renovated and added to accommodate the growing membership. In 2023, our Family Life Center was completed and opened doors to new ministry and missions opportunities.

FBCO has called 7 pastors throughout its history, beginning with Rev. George Hoech in 1957, to our current Senior Pastor, Mike Atherton, who started in April of 2017.

In 1964, the church desired to meet an educational need in the community by establishing the first local kindergarten class. Mrs. Joan Hamlin served as the administrator leading it to grow to 18 sections of kindergarten. As public schools began offering kindergarten, the church began a preschool program for three and four year olds. With a commitment to Biblical education, effective instructional methods, and a learning environment that is effective, safe, and welcoming to students, First Baptist Christian Academy (FBCA) was established and today serves students from 2 years old to 8th grade.
